Macaque Monkeys (Snow Monkeys)

Japan

Since 1964, this group of Japanese macaque monkeys has been known to bask in the hot springs of Jigokudani. They are very playful, spending their days grooming one another, foraging for food, and occasionally squabbling over territories and mates. Observing them is enjoyable, and they are remarkably photogenic.
