Seals, Penguins and Birds

Antarctica

In January 2024, I participated in an expedition to the Antarctic Peninsula. The journey involved exploring different areas, both above and beneath the water in a submersible, which highlighted the delicate state of Antarctica and the effects of global warming on the peninsula's ecosystem. During my stay, I witnessed newly hatched penguin and shag chicks, with their parents attentively caring for them as they readied for their imminent departure from the nests, marking the end of the season. The photographs taken are a testament to the rich wildlife diversity in Antarctica.
