Geological Wonder - Zabriskie Point

Death Valley National Park, California, United States

Zabriskie Point, situated in the Amargosa Range east of Death Valley within Death Valley National Park in California, United States, is renowned for its erosional landscape. It consists of sediments from the prehistoric Furnace Creek Lake, which desiccated 5 million years ago, well before the formation of Death Valley. The photographs stem from a project highlighting the colors emitted by the sediments and the shapes sculpted over millions of years.
